Chinese New Year's Gifts from Students

One of the students I teach this year gave me two mandarin oranges with drawings on it. She said one of it look just like me, guess which one, the one on the left or the one on the right?a former student of mine came to school today and gave me a bag of cookies she made. I am very grateful and happy. Thank you to her.

Today, I entered 5A class. To my surprise that they bought me cake (Tiramisu Cakes) two of them. One is for me to take home. I was very happy to see that but I do feel I am the one who supposed to treat them not the other way around.Besides cakes, one of the students made the kuih sago and fruits jelly

生日期望

今年的生日希望先生不要买蛋糕了，已经吃蛋糕吃怕了。孩子生日，母亲节，父亲节都有蛋糕。老了，只想平静的过。生日期望有好多，以前都只会希望会有很多钱(哈哈)。现在，只希望身体健康因为最近左手一直痛又麻痹。还有一个非常期望的是我的学生们(我都叫他们小朋友)。小朋友啊！老师真的希望，盼望，期望你们会静下心来，好好用心读书。时间剩下不多，不读怕来不及了。如果小朋友们可以做到，那么我的第一个生日许愿就实现了。明天会回家因为妹妹回来，再两个月她要到韩国去了。

Yesterday I was back in Sitiawan to have lunch with all the family members at Michelin Star. It was a farewell lunch for my sister who is going to Korea this August and celebrated Father's Day earlier as it is very difficult to have all the family members back to home

唉，本来计划好了回槟城庆祝母亲节。没料到学校来个LDP，每个老师WAJIB出席。唉，那些学生一直都在敷衍我，说会交功课，结果只有六个人交。那位答应扑交功课的，今天却缺席。说会改，会交功课，全都是说说而已。

Chin Beng

I should have go back home for Chin Beng as I didn't go home to visit my mum for years already. My sisters came back Saturday afternoon but they didn't go to the cemetery. Only my father will go. We visit few grave; first my mother and my grandfather and grandmother and my ancestor too. My grandmother passed away when my father is still a child. It is my grandmother's mother who took care of my father and his siblings. Only three of them. My uncle is in Pantai Remis, his wife just passed away 2 months ago. My aunt live in Singapore, she hardly come back to Malaysia after my grandfather passed away more than 10 years ago.
I am still struggling with my thesis, stayed up last night. Now, while waiting for my car to be serviced I am sitting in the customer lounge with my thesis draft and my laptop. Will try to finish editing by today and compile everything by this week, but I have problems with my chapter 6, normally thesis consist of 5 chapter, mine have 6. Headache....

Going HOmE

Cashew Nuts & Arrowhead

This is the total amount of tidbits that I managed to prepare for CNY. For my father, my mother in law, brother and sister in law

fried arrowhead, a lot of work and very time consuming, but it is very tasty

beside Hazel, Almond, Cashew nut is nice too, but this year the price went up to RM30 per kg. Last year it was RM28

another 2 weeks is Chinese New Year celebration. I had to finish cleaning the house and prepare two of the most favorable tidbits that my hubby loves during CNY. I began to prepare these two tidbits since year 2005. This year, I have to prepare everything a bit early than before. Manage to prepare 3kg of Cashew Nuts and around 8kg of arrowhead. The arrowhead tasted like potato chips. Nice to eat but not too much, or else you will easily down with sore throat.
