Price Cut: Display Price VS Bar Code

Went shopping this morning, bought 3 packs of XL Mamy Poko, 1 bottle of oyster sauce, prawns and the last item was Shiron Ramen ( Korean Ramen aka instant noodles). The display price was 11.99, normal price is 15.70. So, I took one pack and heading to the cashier. When the cashier scan the bar code on the pack, I saw it was 15.70. I didn't say anything, wait till I get the receipt.

Confirm, it was 15.70. So, I asked the cashier why it is 15.70 when the display price is 11.99. The cashier asked me to go to the Customer Service Department. So, I went. The officer took the receipt and the item to display shelves to counter check the price. After few minutes, he came back and asked the other lady officer to give me back 3.70.

I noticed the price differences because I bought only few goods, if buy a lot of things I wouldn't have check the price. Last time, used to have the sticker on each and every items with the bar code and the price. Now, only display price on the shelves and bar code on the items. Next time, must make sure that the display price match the bar code price.

Gigantic Plants

There are few gigantic plants placed along the platform, I was bored after waited for an hour plus still no signs of train approaching the platform. Took few shots of the gigantic plants........

Delayed Train Activities

Lecture over earlier, reached railway station at around 5.37( thanks to my course mate who sent me to the railway) Train was 7.10pm but was delayed half an hours. While waiting, I took out my digital camera and started to take some photos.

Reached destination after two hours sitting in the train(normally half an hour)Took dinner + supper after that and reached home at 10.15pm

Pendidikan Abad Ke-21

Banyak perubahan telah berlaku dalam sistem pendidikan di seluruh dunia ekoran daripada perkembangan teknologi ICT yang begitu pesat. Dulu kita memberikan tumpuan kepada guru kepada pengajaran; guru perlu mengajar pelajar; peranan utama dalam sistem pendidikan ialah guru; guru yang menyampaikan ilmu pengetahuan kepada pelajar; pengajaran begitu penting. Kemudian peranan itu telah diberikan kepada pelajar, pelajarlah yang menjadi fokus dalam proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran ekoran daripada teori konstruktivisme yang menekankan pelajar yang perlu berperanan aktif dalam pembelajaran dan guru hanya berperanan sebagai fasilitator.

Jadi daripada KLSM kita merombak sistem pendidikan kita kepada KBSM. Sudah hampir 30 tahun KBSM dilaksanakan. Kajian perlu dilakukan tentang hasil pelaksanaan KBSM dan keperluan sistem pendidikan pada abad ke-21, sama ada KBSM masih relevan?

Sistem pendidikan pada abad ke-21, lebih bertumpu pada pembelajaran, kepada rangkaian(network). Banyak kita perkatakan tentang e-pembelajaran, pembelajaran jarak jauh, pembelajaran 24/7 dan lain-lain. Hal ini kerana teori pembelajaran yang menunjangi perubahan ini ialah teori connectivism yang dikemukakan oleh George Siemes.

Proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran tidak lagi berfokus kepada sama ada guru atau pelajar, tetapi kepada pembelajaran. Akibat daripada ledakan maklumat yang terdapat dalam tapak sesawang, kita perlu tahu memilih, menapis dan memproses maklumat tersebut. Oleh sebab itu, guru bukan sebagai pengajar tetapi pembimbing dan sebagai pelajar juga. Guru juga berperanan sebagai pelajar belajar cara untuk menggunakan maklumat yang ada dan mendidik pelajar kemahiran untuk memilih, menapis dan memproses maklumat yang diterima. Jadi, fokus dan sasaran adalah pada pembelajaran!

Nan Hwa 5SD 2003 Version of Belaian Jiwa

On my way to fetch my husband from railway station, the Chinese Radio station was playing this song "Belaian Jiwa" by Innuendo. I can still remember this song sang by my former 5SD students. They won first prize in the group category. I was proud that they have the courage to sing in Malay Language which is not their first language.

The year was 2003, it was my last year at the school and it was my former secondary school too. I love the school and the students that I taught for the past 7 years in that school.

Trip to Campus by Train

This morning, I took train to campus at 9. Arriving at the destination one and half hour later. Walking to campus is around 15 minutes. My lecture was at 3pm. After class, it was around 5.30pm. My course-mate offer to send me to the railway station, but I rejected her help as I know she wanted to go home asap. Furthermore, I can walk and it is not that far. She sent me to the side gate, from there, I walked for 16-18 minutes to the station.

I seldom asked others to help me if I can managed to do it myself. My husband doesn't agree as I know he is concern about my safety. I don't simply ask help because I know my friends and course-mates or relative have their own things to do and attended to. They could be busy and have things that are more important. If possible, I rather do it myself. Unless, I really need help, then only I will ask.........
